How to price VIP packages

Updated October 4, 2026 · 5 min read

There is no single right VIP price. There is a right price for your fans, your rooms and what you are offering. This guide gives you a simple way to land on it.

Start with three anchors

  1. Your ticket price. The upgrade usually sits at one to three times the price of a general ticket, depending on what is included.
  2. What is included. Time with the artist is worth more than early entry. A signed item adds value without adding time.
  3. Scarcity. A smaller group feels more personal and supports a higher price.

Then test. If a date sells out in a day, the price or the cap is too low for that market.

Know what you keep

On Barricade the math is simple. You set the face price. Barricade takes a flat 7%. You keep 93%. Stripe processing is itemized and paid by the fan at checkout, so it never comes out of your side.

Face priceYou keep (93%)Barricade (7%)
$50$46.50$3.50
$75$69.75$5.25
$100$93.00$7.00
$150$139.50$10.50
$200$186.00$14.00

The fan sees the face price plus an itemized processing line. On a $100 VIP, that is $103.30 at checkout.

Run the tour math

Multiply price × spots per night × number of shows × 93%.

ScenarioFace valueYou keep
15 spots × $75 × 12 shows$13,500$12,555
20 spots × $100 × 20 shows$40,000$37,200
25 spots × $150 × 30 shows$112,500$104,625

These are examples, not forecasts. Plug in your own run with the VIP earnings calculator.

Common pricing mistakes

  • Too many tiers. Two is plenty. Three confuses buyers.
  • Underpricing time with the artist. It is the scarcest thing you sell.
  • Same cap everywhere. Raise it in your strongest cities, lower it where VIP is new.
  • Hidden fees. Show the full price. Fans trust a clear checkout.

Questions artists ask

How much should a VIP meet & greet cost?

Most artists price VIP at one to three times their general ticket price, depending on what is included and how small the group is. Test in a few markets and adjust.

A flat 7% platform fee on the face price. You keep 93%. Stripe processing is itemized to the fan at checkout.

Do refunds cost me money?
